Another good morning to you All!
What a beautiful weekend we had. Hazel and Jerry got in about 9:00 Saturday evening and came right to the house. Angie, Jenni, Jami and the girls were here and Hazel was happy to see everyone. Jerry, Misti and Bobby had been telling us what a changed person she is ... and they were right. She seems extremely happy to be here and I firmly believe she's going to be glad she made the choice to move up here with all the family. Her home has already sold to her niece, Betty Spinuzzi, so I think that made it easier for her knowing her home of 30+ years was staying in the family.
Yesterday morning Tammi, Jerry, Hazel and I visited Primrose so Hazel could choose her apt. She had a choice between a small one bedroom with a terrace or a larger one bedroom "suite" with an electric fireplace and cathedral ceiling. It took awhile but she finally, thank goodness, chose the suite. She'll be able to use the fireplace nine months a year, where the terrace she would only be able to use about three months out of the year. Plus the fact that she loves fireplaces!
Bobby and Misti got in about 3:00 yesterday with her furnature, etc., and the entire family (except for Hazel and I) went over and unloaded. Then everyone except for Kaylee and Shayna came up for supper. Tammi had fixed shredded beef for burritos, Angie a roast for French Dip sandwiches, and Jami scalloped potatoes. Delicious. One thing about it. If you go hungry here it's your own fault! Hazel really seemed to enjoy having all the family around.
Angie took very good care of me while Jerry was in Pueblo. We went shopping Saturday and I got some new night clothes and a big, fluffy, warm robe for winter. We were also able to get in one game of cutthroat Canasta with Tammi before Hazel and Jerry got here. We didn't get to play Friday night because we had so many visitors. My nieces (John's girls) stopped in Friday evening and visited about an hour. It was sure good to see them. I think it had been about 7 years since I last saw Jordon and Joelle. They're no longer little girls, but young ladies.
It's going to be a good day today. I have a 9:00 dental appt to have an impression made for an appliance which is supposed to help me stop grinding my teeth, which in turn will help the jaw pain. Hope so, at least. Then it's on to the lab for lab work, since I see Dr. Mills tomorrow and Dr. Meade on Wednesday. My foot is doing great. The PT is really helping, but my shoulder not so much. The pain has moved from the joint down into the bicep muscle. Dr. Conley has me coming in on Thursday for an injection, but since the pain has moved, I'm not sure that will happen. We'll see. All in all, I feel wonderful and am getting stronger each day. I barely use my walker anymore ... just when I'm alone. That feels good!
Well, need to jump in the shower. Misti will be here at 8 to do my hair, since I can't get my arm up anymore to do the curling. And I certainly can't go to the doctor or lab without being curled! :-)
Love to all of you. Have a fabulous week and we'll be chatting on Friday.
